PRIMAGICS AB is a consultant company in sensors and measurement systems, with its office in Solna, Sweden.
PRIMAGICS was founded 2015 by Jan Yngve Andersson, who has more than thirty years experience on sensors, semiconductor technology and nano/microelectronics.
PRIMAGICS has its roots in Dr. Jan Y Andersson's work at the industrial research institute Acreo Swedish ICT, an industrial research institute working with electronics, optics and communication technology. Dr. Andersson is also since a long time cooperating with the Department of Electronics Design at MidSweden University, Sundsvall, Sweden, and had a position as Adjunct Professor there until 2019.
PRIMAGICS possesses a major contact network in both academia and the business world.
PRIMAGICS is not selling components or measurement equipment off the shelf, but can give advice on where to get these from commercial suppliers. If they are not available commercially PRIMAGICS is able to start up R&D projects to develop such devices or equipment, if it is in the customer's interest.
Jan Y Andersson previously worked as a researcher and department manager within nanoelectronics at Acreo Swedish ICT in Kista, Sweden, and was responsible for Acreo's operations in the Electrum Laboratory (KTH), a cleanroom for micro/nanoelectronics , part of Myfab. He was responsible for Acreo's development project on QWIPs (Quantum Well Infrared Photodetectors) (during 1990-2002). QWIP arrays are now manufactured and sold by IRnova AB, Kista. He was also the Director of Acreo's Centre of Excellence IMAGIC (IMAGing Integrated Components and Systems) (during 2006-2014). IMAGIC worked with R&D on integrated sensors, in particular detectors and image sensors based on infrared (near and thermal infrared) and X-ray. During IMAGIC's last three years its area of interest was extended to include all kinds of integrated sensors with electronic interface. Ph.D. and Associated Professor (Sw. docent), from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden.
